A new year is a traditional time for reflection, perhaps even more so as we enter a new decade in 2020. Resolutions vary, as there are things we should start doing, some we should stop doing, and others that we need to continue. This last category reminds us of a long-standing and resolute commitment at Master’s.
When Master’s Advisors incorporated 20 years ago, we committed to contributing a portion of our annual profit to The Master’s Stewardship Fund, our corporate giving fund. Each Master’s team member then participates by designating a portion of our giving fund to the ministry or charitable organization(s) of his or her choice. We believe that we have been blessed so that we can bless others.
In the past we have been hesitant to share this practice with you, so it’s important to emphasize the following:
- This is not a marketing strategy to raise brand awareness for Master’s.
- We do not believe that our faith should be leveraged to further our business but that it is simply part of who we are as individuals and as a team.
- We do not share these details to be boastful or prideful.
- We simply believe that we are doing what we are all called to do and that is to be generous (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
Despite our reservations about writing this blog, it was on our heart to share this personal information with you. It has always been our conviction to pursue the values of stewardship and generosity. We are in the business of helping people make wise financial decisions, and we believe that the best financial plans include the life-giving components of stewardship and generosity. This is what allows us to “Manage Wealth for a Life of Purpose” as our tag-line states.
It is only because of our relationships with you that we have the privilege of practicing corporate generosity. Thank you for your partnership with us in this endeavor. We wish you a meaningful and purpose-filled year and decade ahead.
