Wealth is an abundance of valuable possessions or money. It is neither positive nor negative. It’s our attitude toward wealth that determines whether wealth will enable our self-indulgence or enrich our lives and the lives of others.
Consider Abraham in in the book of Genesis, a man of immense wealth. Then think of the rich fool in the gospels. Both were rich. Their attitudes toward wealth made the difference.
What demonstrates the right attitude toward wealth?
Humility: After we have worked hard and have attained a degree of financial success, we need to remember the One who has given us the ability to produce that wealth.
Generosity: Generous people are not hoarders. They are others-centered and willing to share.
An Eternal Perspective: God has set eternity in the hearts of men.* He who dies with the most toys does not win.
Wealth is not the end game. It is a means to help us pursue the things that have lasting value. Master’s is here to help you use your wealth prudently and efficiently, leveraging it as a resource while staying focused on what you have been called to do in your life.
How are you using your wealth to pursue your life’s calling?
