The Master’s Minute – The Wisdom of Generosity & Wealth Management

June 24, 2025 by Charles D. Keller

A hand moves money generously across the table to a wealthy person. We open today’s blog post with a fundamental “core values” question:

Are you integrating generosity into your use of personal wealth?

As we begin to dig into the topic of Generosity and Wealth, I would like to share some observations gleaned from working with financial planning clients for the past 35 years.

Let’s review these observations together, as shown in the following formulas:

Wealth + Generosity = Contentment, Fulfillment, and Joy

In the absence of generosity, the formula usually looks more like this:

Wealth + Personal Consumption = Lack of Contentment and Disillusionment

Generosity might be best described as living life with open hands. The generous person(s) has shifted their priorities to helping and blessing others, rather than choosing personal consumption as the primary use of their wealth.

Join us today for some reflections on Biblical wisdom and shared life lessons regarding living generously and the use of personal wealth.

Living Life as a Giver

Generosity means living life as a giver, not a taker!

It may also produce personal contentment, fulfilment, and joy in our lives. Freedom from the clutches of materialism happens when we choose to be generous, impacting ministries and charitable organizations, as well as those we love.

If you appreciate Biblical wisdom, I have two sections of scripture to share with you. The first passage speaks to how we are to view wealth; the second passage focuses on generosity.

I invite you to read (and re-read) them several times.

  • Deuteronomy 8: 10-14, 17-18
  • I Timothy 6: 17-19

If you are already practicing generosity, we would love to come alongside you to enhance your giving capacity with additional tools and tax-efficient strategies.

Why not make a good thing even better?

Intentional Living, Intentional Giving

Perhaps generosity is not yet part of your personal planning, but this blog has piqued your interest. Let’s start a meaningful conversation! We would love to hear your thoughts and offer some great first steps to incorporating generosity into your planning and lifestyle.

Friends, it is certainly possible to create excellent financial plans without considering generosity.

However, these plans will pale in comparison to personal wealth planning that is both focused and intentional on blessing others, all while planning well for your future. At Master’s, we are enthusiastic about helping you to integrate generosity into your personal financial plans, as well as your daily lives!

We know it will provide a lasting impact and bring a deeper sense of purpose to your planning experience, life, and relationships.

Contact us! We would love to continue this conversation with you on a personal level.
