Coach John Wooden coached the UCLA Men’s Basketball team from 1948-1975. Not only was his program incredibly successful, he was also one of the most highly thought of and well respected coaches of all time.
I recently came across one of his motivational quotes that grabbed my attention:
“Talent is God-given. Be humble.
Fame is man-given. Be grateful.
Conceit is self-given. Be careful.”
Great advice! For the moment I’d like to focus on the second line of his quote.
Referrals are the life-blood of our firm’s growth. A referral happens when someone chooses to say very nice things about us. These compliments often result in a friend, neighbor or colleague contacting us at Master’s to explore a planning relationship.
We recently held our annual Referral Appreciation Dinner at The Greenfield Inn. We enjoyed some fantastic food, good conversation, and fellowship around the tables. This was our way of saying “Thank you” to those of you who had said something nice about us by recommending our firm to others.
We will not take your kind words, compliments, and endorsements of Master’s for granted. Instead, it challenges us to “raise the bar” of providing sound advice and excellent client service. We strive to be a firm that is worthy of your referrals, and with humble gratitude, we say “Thank You.”
